Caterina Murino is going to be a mom!

The 47-year-old actress, who appeared alongside Daniel Craig in the 2006 James Bond movie Casino Royale, announced that she is pregnant with her first child following a difficult journey with in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Keep reading to find out more…“At my age, I had to ask medicine to help nature,” Caterina told French magazine Gala. “You don’t always decide when the right time to become a mother comes.”

Caterina and her boyfriend of eight years, French lawyer Édouard Rigaud, are expecting a baby boy as she’s due at the end of the summer, shortly before turning 48 in September.

The Italian actress went on to say that Édouard has supported her during her difficult journey to get pregnant after suffering two miscarriage in the past and going through a “trying” IVF process.

Despite her difficult journey to motherhood, Caterina said she’s grateful to finally begin her new chapter as a mom, and said that she has had a fairly smooth pregnancy so far.

“I haven’t had any discomfort, no diabetes, no insomnia,” Caterina shared.

Caterina also talked about her pregnancy during an interview with Italian outlet Costa Smeralda.

“I feel I am living a magical moment,” she said. “Soon I will become a mother, and I believe we all have a huge responsibility today: raise conscious human beings.”
