Cher's Son Elijah Blue Allman Hospitalized After Overdose

In a sad turn of events, the son of Cher and Gregg Allman was hospitalized after a reported overdose in Joshua Tree over the weekend. This latest Elijah Blue Allman overdose is a heartbreaking development in his long struggle with addiction, one that’s been well-documented over the years.

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, deputies responded to a home in Landers, California, after reports of a man acting erratically. When they arrived, Elijah was already being treated by emergency medical personnel, and drugs were reportedly found at the scene.

He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains under care. His current condition hasn’t been disclosed, but insiders say he’s “very lucky to have survived.”

Cher’s Son Elijah Blue Allman Overdoses at 48: Shocking New Details

Unfortunately, Cher’s son’s overdose in 2025 isn’t the first time Elijah has faced a life-threatening crisis. In 2014, he opened up about his drug use starting at just 11 years old, including marijuana, ecstasy, heroin, and opiates.

“I was just looking to escape,” he admitted in a past interview. “That’s when you turn to those kinds of drugs.” He also acknowledged having some terrifying near-overdoses, describing the sensation of being close to the edge of mortality more than once.

Sadly, this Elijah Blue Allman drug relapse echoes that painful past. While it’s not yet clear what substances were involved in this most recent incident, the fact that drugs were found in the home and that he was reportedly disoriented is concerning.

Just last month, he was seen outside the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles looking sunburned, sweaty, and out of sorts – a public moment that now feels like a warning sign, in retrospect.

Cher’s Response and Past Conservatorship Battle

Cher, now 79, has long been vocal about trying to help her son. In 2023, she filed for temporary sole conservatorship over her son, citing his mental health and addiction issues.

According to court documents, she was concerned that any money given to him would be immediately spent on drugs, endangering his life and possibly prompting another Elijah Blue Allman drug relapse.

Though she later dropped the request in late 2024, after Elijah claimed to be sober, this recent episode may prompt Cher to seek conservatorship over her son again. For now, sources close to Cher say she’s fully focused on getting him the help he needs and is “only concerned for her son’s well-being.”

Elijah Blue Allman and Marieangela King

Elijah is also in the middle of a rocky divorce from his estranged wife, Marieangela King. She has cited “irreconcilable differences” in court documents and is asking for $6,000 per month in temporary spousal support.

The couple’s marriage has been marked by its ups and downs, and it’s unclear what kind of communication, if any, they’ve had since the overdose.

That said, sources say King is aware of the hospitalization and is “deeply concerned.” While the two have had their share of trouble, there’s no doubt this crisis has touched everyone close to Elijah.

The Bigger Picture Behind the Elijah Blue Allman Overdose

The Elijah Blue Allman overdose is a tragic reminder of how long and complicated the road to recovery can be. With addiction deeply rooted in the Allman family tree, it’s clear that Elijah’s fight has never been an easy one. (His father, Gregg, and uncle, Duane, both battled substance abuse.)

Right now, loved ones, including Cher and Marieangela, are holding out hope that this terrifying moment can serve as a wake-up call, not just for Elijah, but for anyone battling similar demons. Whatever happens next, one thing is certain: the world is watching and praying for his recovery.
