“It was like four to five days that I had to prepare for the first bit of the competition,” Lydia told Entertainment Weekly‘s Joey Nolfi in a group interview, which left many of the All Stars queens very surprised.
“They were like, ‘You know what, let’s throw in Lydia, why not?’” she teased. “And I was game for it. I thought it would be, above all, funny to come back, more than anything, so early. But, you know, I just wanted to see what would happen.”
Mistress Isabelle Brooks, who competed on season 15, added, “That was kind of the interesting thing too, is like when Lydia walked in, I knew her from doing the roast on season 17. So immediately, everyone was kind of like, ‘Oh my god, who is that bi-ch?’ And I was like, ‘She’s one to watch out for.’”
Tina Burner chimed in, saying, “I think seeing her come in right off the bat, you worried if it’s a threat because she’s, you know, just been on the show so you’re like, well, why are they bringing her back right away?’ Because a lot of us, you know, waited long time. So, is she a threat? And also, what an amazing opportunity, and it’s one of those situations you look at like, should I keep my eye on her ’cause why is she here so soon? What does she have?”
Nicole Paige Brooks said, “I just felt like it was, you know, another one of Ru‘s favorites for some reason, and you can see on season 17 why she is. But Ru brings back those girls as purely entertainment. She never really lets them win.”
Aja adds, “You know, I do live for the Butthole. She’s turning it for me on season 17. Yeah, and you know, she’s doing her one.”
Jorgeous says, “When she first walked in, I was like, ‘Who is this bi-ch?’ I’m like, literally. But as she started talking with RuPaul and all that stuff, and RuPaul like loves her, and I’m like, ‘Am I jealous right now?’”
