Former NCT singer Taeil, whose full name is Moon Tae-il, has been sentenced to prison time.

He will be jailed for three years and six months after being found guilty of rape, the Korea Times reports. It’s said that he and two accomplices, named Lee and Hong, sexually assaulted a Chinese tourist who was intoxicated. The crime is said to have occurred in June 2024 when they met the woman in a bar and gang assaulted her while she was unconscious.

Prosecutors requested a 7 year sentence, and while the judge did call the crime “extremely grave,” they were only given half of the requested time.

The K-Pop group NCT parted ways with Taeil, one of its many members, amid the accusations last year. If you don’t know, the 31-year-old musician was a member of the overarching K-Pop group and participated in one of its subgroups NCT 127.
