How to Get Netflix for Free: 7 Legit Ways to Stream Without Paying Full Price

If we're being honest, streaming is not very cheap anymore. Between Netflix, Hulu, Max, and whatever else your household is subscribed to, that monthly bill adds up fast. So, if you're looking to trim the fat from your subscriptions, you're not alone. And yes, there are ways to get Netflix for free (or close to it).

No sketchy hacks or password borrowing, just real, reliable ways to watch your favorite Netflix shows and movies without coughing up the full subscription fee.

1. T-Mobile's "Netflix on Us" Still Exists (Kind Of)

T-Mobile has long offered a Netflix deal, and while it has changed slightly over the years, it remains one of the best legitimate ways to get Netflix for free.

Here's how it works now:

  • If you have two or more lines on a qualifying T-Mobile plan (such as Go5G Plus or Magenta MAX), you can get Netflix Standard with Ads included at no additional cost.

  • The ad-free option was previously part of the deal but was retired in early 2024. So yes, you'll have to sit through some commercials.

Still, if you're already with T-Mobile, this is a sweet little perk to take advantage of. And it's perfect for families or couples sharing a plan.

2. Verizon's Streaming Bundle = Netflix + Max for $10

If you're a Verizon customer, they've got a bundle deal that makes Netflix basically free.

Here's what to know:

  • With Verizon's myPlan, you can opt into a $10/month bundle that includes Netflix (with ads) and Max (with ads).

  • Max alone costs $9.99 per month, so it's essentially like getting Netflix for a penny.

  • You must be on a qualifying mobile or home internet plan.

It's not technically free, but if Max is already on your list, this is one of the best value combos out there. Call it 'girl math' if you must, but it's still better than paying for both!

3. Comcast's StreamSaver Is Perfect for Binge-Watchers

Comcast users, this one's for you. In May 2024, Comcast launched its StreamSaver bundle, and it's kind of a hidden gem.

Here's the deal:

  • You get Netflix Standard with Ads, Peacock Premium, and Apple TV+ for $15 per month.

  • That's up to 40% off the price of subscribing to each one individually.

  • Available to Xfinity internet and TV customers.

If you're already a Comcast customer, this is a simple way to reduce your bills and continue streaming all your favorites.

4. Check Your School or Work Perks

You'd be surprised what's hiding in some college or corporate benefit portals. A few international universities and large companies are starting to bundle Netflix access into their digital wellness perks.

  • Students might get access through campus tech centers, university media labs, or library resource rooms. Access is typically on-campus only and is tied to educational use, not personal streaming from dorms or homes.

  • Some large companies, especially those in the tech, media, finance, and startup sectors, offer entertainment stipends or lifestyle benefits as part of their employee perks packages. These stipends can sometimes be used toward streaming services, including Netflix, Spotify, or YouTube Premium.

It's rare but worth a quick search. You never know.

5. Share a Plan (Legally)

Netflix cracked down on password sharing, but they did leave the door open a crack. Now, you can add an extra member outside your household to your plan for approximately $7.99 per month.

Split that with a friend or family member, and you're down to roughly $4 per person.

6. Redeem Gift Cards or Rewards

If you use cash-back apps or survey sites, check if they offer Netflix gift cards as a reward. You may be able to stream for free simply by redeeming your points.

Popular options:

  • Fetch Rewards, Swagbucks, MyPoints, and InboxDollars

  • Some credit card reward programs let you redeem points for Netflix codes

It's not instant, but it's a nice way to fund your subscription without dipping into your bank account.

7. Look Out for Smart TV and Retail Bundles

Retailers sometimes include Netflix as a bonus when you purchase a new device. Around holidays or back-to-school season, you might spot promotions like:

  • Buy a new smart TV, Chromecast, or tablet, and get a few months of Netflix included

  • Promotions from brands like Samsung, LG, Best Buy, and Costco

Always check the fine print and act quickly. These deals never last long.

What About Free Trials?

Unfortunate news for all of us: Netflix no longer offers free trials in the U.S. (and hasn't since 2020). They also don't have any current student discounts or promotional offers for new users.

But you can find selected episodes of certain Netflix originals for free on their YouTube channel. Think of it as a little appetizer before you commit to the whole meal.

Cut the Cost, Keep the Shows

Netflix isn't known for giving away freebies, but if you know where to look, you can still find ways to stream without paying full price.

T-Mobile, Verizon, and Comcast all have legitimate options that either reduce or completely eliminate the cost, depending on your plan. And if you get creative with shared plans, rewards programs, or promo deals, you might get away with paying nothing at all.
