Nicolas “Nic” Vansteenbergh and Olandria Carthen, aka Nicolandria, are opening up in a new joint interview!

The burgeoning couple, who paired up on the latest seventh season of Love Island USA, took part in their first interview together since leaving the villa earlier this week.

While speaking with Access Hollywood‘s Lauren Herbert, they dished on being supportive of each other, their favorite things about each other, their hopes for the future together and more.

“I could truly say, like, when I get in my head a lot, Nic always checks on me to make sure I’m okay. ‘Do you need anything?’ You know, he’ll literally take my phone out of my hand and make me put it down because he was like, ‘Get out of those comments, get out of your head,’” Olandria shared.

“He’s been such a huge supporter with me ’cause I’m trying to get warmed up to this new reality. I’m just having a tough time,” she added.

Nic added that having their parents’ support has also helped.

Their favorite things about each other?

“I love how caring her is. He’s always making sure I’m okay. I don’t know. He’s always just there for me. Allows me to bask in my femininity, allows me to be soft. I feel like I never got a chance to really do that in the past,” Olandria gushed.

“I truly feel like the five years that I’ve been single, I truly just stepped into like this masculine masculine energy and didn’t allow myself to just feel like a woman,” she continued. “In his presence, I can truly feel like a woman. I don’t have to think. I don’t have to do anything. Even opening the water bottle, he’s doing that for me. I don’t have to do nothing. So, I love that. I truly, truly love that. He takes care of good care of me for sure.”

For his part, Nic loves Olandria‘s softness.

“I think the most recent thing has been seeing her softness and, like she was saying, her sensitive side. I think with all of this new world that we’re living, being open with each other and bringing down those walls is like a beautiful thing,” Nic said. “And sharing our insecurities with each other and sharing our concerns, but having together is also an amazing thing.”

Nicolandria also talked about the timing of everything about how their relationship developed in the villa. They also said producers didn’t say anything to them about how their relationship was perceived from an outsiders perspective.

“As much as I wish we would have coupled up earlier on, I feel like our story wouldn’t have been as beautiful and telling as it is,” Olandria said. “I feel like a lot of people can resonate with where we are, our story, just like this friends to lovers trope. I honestly love that we did it the way we did.”

What’s next for them?

“I think for me, it’s like doing a lot of the little things. Movie theater, Disneyland’s a big thing, but that was amazing last night, watching the fireworks, and things that people do in a relationship,” Nic shared. “Traveling is a huge thing for me and I know we share a lot of the same interests and places to go. So, yeah, I think traveling, exploring new things. I’m gonna make her go skydiving (or die-skyving as Amaya Espinal said!) with me. She doesn’t know it yet, but…”

“I think just continue to move at the pace we always have,” Olandria added. “I don’t feel like we just rush into things. Nic‘s been doing a really, really good job with feeing the Nicolandria stans a lot of content, and they’re really enjoying it. So I think we’re just going to continued to move at our own pace.”

As for the reunion, Nic hopes to address some things with Jeremiah, Belle-A and Cierra. “There’s just a lot of things in the air, at least for me.”

“For me, I’m just doing my homework. I know a lot of people are going on podcasts and my name seems to come up a lot,” Olandria said. “So, I’m still just making my list.”
