Nick Cannon is opening up about his decision to have so many children.

According to the 44-year-old actor, comedian, and producer, he hasn’t had 12 children because he wants to be like other stars with a large number of children like Elon Musk.

He opened up about his kids in an interview with Vulture recently.

According to the interview, Nick‘s large family wasn’t directly a result of trying to have a large number of children. The interview says that it happened as a “by-product of his eagerness to appease the women he was dating or his single friends who wanted kids.”

Nick went on to say that he feels like things got a little out of hand in 2022 when he welcomed five children into the world in a single year. He told Vulture, “It was also a little bit of, like, ‘Okay, God, how did I have five kids in one year?’ Probably careless activity.”

In total, Nick currently has 12 children. During the interview, he answered whether or not he’s planning to have more.

He said, “There was a point in time where I was just like, ‘Nah, I’m done.’ And, then I was like, ‘Who am I to say that?’ It seemed like it was such an emphatic thing. I never imagined that I would have 12 kids. So, it’s one of those things where I love children. I love my life, and if it could keep going in the direction that it’s going, why not?”
