Teddi Mellencamp Splits From Boyfriend Ricci Rea Amid Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp is sharing an update on her relationship status.
During the Friday (July 11) episode of her Diamonds in the Rough podcast, the 44-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told co-host Erika Jayne that she recently ended her relationship with new boyfriend Ricci Rea, just one month after she revealed that they were dating.

“All of a sudden, I open up the freaking worldwide web,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘The mystery man.’ Oh, now you guys figured it out.”
When Erika, 54, asked what happened, Teddi, who is currently battling cancer, explained that as of right now, she’s unable to be in a long-term relationship, which is where she saw her relationship with Ricci heading.
“Right now, it started getting to the point where it’s starting to get a little bit more serious. I was like, ‘I don’t have the capacity for this right now,’” she explained. “He’s a really nice guy, couldn’t be a nicer guy.”
Teddi continued, “I don’t feel my best. So, when I have downtime, I want to rest. It’s not even, like, about a need right now, and I think that’s the crazy thing about this.”
Teddi‘s relationship with Ricci marked her first public romance since splitting from husband Edwin Arroyave in November 2024 after 13 years of marriage. The former couple share kids Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 10.
“Who knows? Three months from now, something else may be happening. I don’t know,” Teddi said. “But in the way I’m feeling right this moment, the second I’m done working with my kids and doing all the stuff that I need to do, I want to lay.”
She also made it clear that Ricci did “nothing” wrong in their relationship.
“Nothing dramatic happened, other than the press being a little slow on it,” Teddi noted.
In an interview from back in April, Teddi said she was given 50/59 odds of surviving her cancer.
