The Chosen Season 5 is now on streaming!

The religious TV series, following the life of Jesus Christ, premiered its fifth season on Sunday (June 15) on Prime Video. The first two episodes are available to watch right now!

In the fifth season premiere, Jesus rides into the holy city as king, and finds that the rulers have turned his father’s house from a place of prayer to a corrupt market.

Of course, fans are curious about whether the show will be getting another season.

Yes, The Chosen was already renewed for Seasons 6 and 7 – and the Season 6 finale and Season 7 premiere will be feature films!

Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios will release the Season 6 finale of The Chosen as a feature film exclusively in theaters on March 12, 2027.

Season 6 portrays the crucifixion of Jesus, per Deadline.

Season 7 will kick off with a feature film depicting the resurrection of Jesus, exclusively in theaters on March 31, 2028.

Both are being produced as standalone films designed for movie theaters.

Here’s the plot synopsis: “Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, The Chosen is a seven-season series that shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings. The Chosen is written, directed, and produced by 5&2 Studios’ Dallas Jenkins.”

The Chosen’s theatrical releases of Seasons 3 through 5 have grossed more than $140 million worldwide in 55 territories.

Season 6 will be available to stream on Prime Video prior to the theatrical debut of the finale, while Season 7 will stream on Prime Video following the theatrical run of the premiere.
