The film concludes with Emily's triplet, Charity, who was assumed to be dead, taking the fall for their crimes and being imprisoned as Emily, while a mysterious 'simple favor' is requested by Emily's mother-in-law, Portia, who knows Emily's secret. After the release of 'Another Simple Favor' on Prime Video, the storyline hints strongly at a third film, with Director Paul Feig expressing openness to this possibility despite his general reluctance towards sequels.

The film concludes with a twist where Emily's supposedly deceased triplet, Charity, sacrifices herself by going to prison in Emily's place, presenting a rich vein of narrative potential for future films.

Emily's new mother-in-law, Portia, who is aware of Emily's secret, requests a 'simple favor', adding another layer of complexity and intrigue to the narrative.

Paul Feig describes Charity as a 'loose cannon', suggesting her character offers numerous directions for the story to explore, potentially driving the plot of a third movie.

Feig's willingness to consider a 'three-quel' stems from the fun and potential he sees in further developing the characters and their entanglements following significant events in the sequel.

The sequel dramatically ends with the deaths of four major characters, creating a vacuum and potential new directions for the storyline to unfold.

Feig hints that the 'simple favor' requested by Portia is something undesirable by the rest of the family, suggesting it could be a pivotal element in the potential continuation of the series.

So, will a third movie happen?

“It’s all sitting right there to be picked off the tree,” Paul told Entertainment Weekly. “Look, as much as I don’t like to do sequels and have avoided them, I have no rule against three-quels. There’s much more fun to be had with these characters and to see what they can get into and how they can get out of it.”

The second movie ended with Emily’s triplet Charity, who was previously believed to be dead, taking the blame for both her and Emily’s crimes and going to prison as Emily.

“Charity is a loose cannon,” Feig said. “So there are lots of places for her to go. Let’s just say, I hope to see Charity again.”

At the very end of the movie, Emily’s new mother-in-law Portia dropped in on her and revealed that she was aware of her secret… and asked for a “simple favor.”

“There are worse situations she could be in, to be quite honest,” Feig said. So what’s the favor? He said, “It’s something that probably nobody else in the family would want to do.”

Four major characters were killed off in the sequel.
