Zara Larsson Indirectly Bashes Katy Perry for Working With Dr. Luke Again

Zara Larsson is indirectly calling out Katy Perry.
The 27-year-old “Symphony” singer spoke out in a new interview with Rolling Stone, where she was asked about her thoughts about the mainstream return of producer Dr. Luke, who had a years-long legal battle with Kesha after being accused by the singer of emotional and physical abuse. (The two later settled in 2023.)
“I’m like, why?” she said of Dr. Luke‘s return to working with mainstream pop artists.
“There’s a million other people. Is it really, really important for him to come back? I don’t think so.”
“I personally wouldn’t do it because what is he gonna do for me or for anyone else?” she continued.
“I think that the most powerful thing you can do is to actually put your money where your mouth is and work with women and hire women and do all of that,” Zara continued.
“So I think that’s way more powerful than writing a feminist anthem with someone who is not really standing for those values.”
Dr. Luke notably is featured on the 40-year-old “Roar” singer’s latest album 143, including her feminism anthem, “Woman’s World.”
