Just when we thought Starbucks gave us plenty of reason to start celebrating the fall, we find out there's more.

The Starbucks fall menu already features our beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte, along with a rather impressive collection of pumpkin, pecan, and banana bread creations.

But, our autumn coffee order isn’t complete. On Sept. 29th, Starbucks will add an entirely new iced espresso drink to the menu, along with three tiny pies inspired by some of fall's greatest hits.

Meet the New Starbucks Aerocano

The newest addition to the lineup is the Starbucks Aerocano, an iced espresso drink that gets its unusual texture from… wait for it… air.

Starbucks’ Blonde Espresso is air-whipped to create a light layer of foam and a cascading effect in the cup. It’s a modern take on the Iced Americano, but the Aerocano has a smoother, more velvety texture. We can start ordering it on Sept. 29th, which also happens to be National Coffee Day.

And, while it may be new to us, the Aerocano has already done a little traveling. Starbucks first introduced the drink in South Korea earlier this year, where Iced Americanos are enormously popular. The company says more than 70% of its Americano orders there are iced, even during the winter.

After expanding the Aerocano into other international markets, Starbucks is finally bringing its foamy creation stateside.

Three Tiny Pies Are Coming, Too

Now, let's discuss the important matter of pie. Three Starbucks Mini Pies will arrive with the Aerocano on Sept. 29th, each inspired by a classic fall dessert. The lineup includes:

• Apple Crumble Mini Pie: Tender apples topped with a buttery streusel.

• Pecan Mini Pie: Toasted pecans paired with caramelized sweetness.

• Pumpkin Mini Pie: Creamy pumpkin filling with warm fall spices.

They're individual little pies, rather than slices, which makes the whole thing considerably more adorable. The pumpkin version even has a tiny leaf-shaped piece of crust on top.

Fall Was Already in Full Swing

The funny thing is that these additions aren't kicking off the Starbucks fall drinks season. We're already well into it. The main fall menu rolled out on Aug. 25th with the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, along with newcomers including:

• Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso

• Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha

• Iced Banana Bread Latte

• Iced Banana Bread Chai

The fridge got into the spirit, too, with the returning Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and a fall-ready Hedgehog Cake Pop.

Starbucks says Aug. 25th was its biggest fall launch day ever in the U.S. and Canada. So, the Aerocano and Mini Pies aren't replacing our PSLs. Instead, they’re arriving about a month later for round two.

The Aerocano Has a Different Kind of Fall Feeling

Among all the new Starbucks drinks we've seen lately, the Aerocano stands out because it isn't pumpkin-flavored, covered in cold foam, or particularly dessert-like. It's still espresso-forward.

The innovation is more about the texture, using aeration to make an Americano-style drink lighter and creamier without turning it into a latte.

That makes its Sept. 29th arrival a nice option if you love fall coffee season, but don't necessarily want your coffee to taste like the candle aisle. Fortunately, though, that’s where one of those pies can step in.
