Arsenal accelerate summer business as new arrivals take shape
Viktor Gyokores has told Sporting CP he wants to leave the club this summer as he sets his sights on a move to the Premier League, Sporting News understands.
The Swedish striker was recently spotted training in Stockholm wearing Sporting gear, but sources close to the player believe he considers his time in Portugal to be over.
He is said to be keen on joining a club with Champions League ambitions with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United both potential suitors for the frontman.
Mikel Arteta's side want to sign a top-class striker this summer, and while Benjamin Sesko is the priority target, they are prepared to move for Gyokeres if a deal for Sesko proves financially unfeasible.
Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has also been linked with a move to north London, as representatives of the Brazilian have contacted several top clubs ahead of a potential summer switch.
The 24-year-old is open to a new challenge but any transfer is expected to cost in excess of £80million.

Who else are Arsenal targeting in the transfer window?
At the back, Arsenal remain admirers of Ajax defender Jorrel Hato. The 19-year-old is considered one of the brightest young talents in the Eredivisie.
Talks have taken place in recent days between Arsenal and Hato’s camp, with Chelsea also keen on getting signing the Dutch youngster.
The defender’s agent has also been in London again in the past few days, further fuelling speculation over a possible transfer.
Hato recently signed a new deal at Ajax, but that may not be enough to keep him in Amsterdam if a serious offer arrives.
Meanwhile, Kepa Arrizabalaga's move from Chelsea to Arsenal is set to be finalised in the coming days.
The Spanish goalkeeper will join a fee in the region of £5million and come in as back-up to first choice David Raya.
Martin Zubimendi's arrival from Real Sociedad for £55million will also be announced at the start of July.
