Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jannik Sinner score, results, highlights from 2025 Wimbledon men's final as world No. 1 ends Italy's SW19 wait
WIMBLEDON, LONDON โJannik Sinner exacted revenge on rival Carlos Alcaraz to win a maiden Wimbledon title and a fourth grand slam.
Just 35 days ago the world No.1 missed three match points to lose in five sets over a five-and-a-half hour epic against Alcaraz in the French Open final.
But the 23-year-old proved a deserved 4-6, 6-4. 6-4, 6-4 winner on Centre Court as he ended the two-time Wimbledon champion's defence of his title and halted a run of 24 consecutive wins for the Spaniard. In a piece of history, Sinner is Italy's first winner of a Wimbledon singles title.

Sinner had lost the past five meetings against the world No.2 and on all four occasions it's gone to five sets he's come out on the wrong side. Sinner was in no mood to repeat that today but, having gone from a break up to losing the first set in 46 minutes, he'd have feared going the distance once more.
But 13 unforced errors from Alcaraz in the second set and Sinner then finding his groove proved decisive. The defending champion, so often the man to produce moments of magic, had no answers to Sinner's relentless barrage of winners.
The pair have won the past seven grand slams between them and will no doubt be among the favourites to do battle once more in New York when the US Open begins next month.

Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 4-6 Sinner* - Sinner wins fourth set and the match!
How's your nerve Mr. Sinner? The first rally is a mammoth one but Alcaraz eventually hits it wide, 15-0. He moves to within two points, this time a backhand winner down the line leaves Alcaraz no chance. Alcaraz does incredibly well to retrieve the ball in the next during a long rally but Sinner won't back down. He has three Championship points! The first ends with Sinner firing into the net. But the next is a huge serve down the middle and Alcaraz can't return it. The world No.1 has his revenge and wins his maiden Wimbledon crown!
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 4-5 Sinner
Alcaraz knows he needs to make Sinner serve at least one more time but the Italian wants it done with. At 15-15, Sinner's return goes long. The 23-year-old gets level with a backhand volley at the net to move within two points of the title. A big serve from Alcaraz gives him the smallest of breathing spaces, 40-30 and he closes out with a serve and volley.
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 3-5 Sinner*
There's still plenty of love for Alcaraz and belief in the stands as he wins the first point. He wins the next but then those cheers only get louder as the ball catches the Italian's racquet frame and flies off into the stands. An overhit backhand brings up two break points! It's been a while. He saves them both much to the relief of his coaches in his box. Sinner turns the ball striking up a notch and the power is too much for Alcaraz to handle. He's one game away from victory!
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 3-4 Sinner
Sinner is growing in confidence and becoming more consistent with his groundstrokes from the back of the court. At 30-15, Alcaraz is too casual with a forehand half-volley and it looks to the sky in frustration at another missed opportunity. Mistakes from Sinner allow him to escape again though and maintain a hold of serve.
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 2-4 Sinner*
At 15-15, Sinner hits another ace down the middle. It's taken him a while to find his best service game but he's using it well right now. He's only lost one point while serving in this set. Make that two, 40-30. He seals it with a lucky net cord and apologises to Alcaraz. He's two games away.

Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 2-3 Sinner
The new balls help Alcaraz with a 139mph ace and a 126mph second serve to win the opening two points. A simple backhand slice into an empty court gets him to 40-0. Sinner wins the next two with some dedicated winners and then Alcaraz's error draws them level when the game should be wrapped up and Alcaraz knows it. He 22-year-old battles hard to win the next two points and won't be rolling over anytime soon.
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 1-3 Sinner*
At 30-0, Sinner comes to the net and hits a backhand with such venom he has both feet off the floor when striking. Alcaraz then hits one long and looks down to the floor as he trudges back to his chair. We're not used to seeing him look this disappointed.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 1-2 Sinner
Alcaraz is receiving plenty of instructions from his coaches at the start of this fourth set. They can't stop him from double faulting on the second point though, 15-15. He loses the next as his return goes high and long. They're level as this time it's Sinner's turn to overhit, 30-30. Sinner then looks like he's going to hit a backhand to the right but deceives Alcaraz by going the other side to get break point. He then drills a backhand return off the serve right down the line. Alcaraz won't like that one bit.
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 1-1 Sinner*
Sinner is in the groove. He holds to love and Alcaraz barely gets a look in.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 1-0 Sinner
Sinner would love another early break here but he knows Alcaraz's stubbornness isn't going to make it easy. The Spaniard wins a long rally at 30-15 before hitting a sweet forehand winner. A big serve closes out the game.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-6, 0-0 Sinner
Sinner wins the 3rd set 6-4 against Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 4-6 Sinner* - Sinner wins third set!
There's just one patch of the court still in sunlight and it's right in Sinner's eyes when he's serving. He double faults. But he's soon back in front, 30-15. The world No.1 does brilliantly to adjust his feet to nail an overhead smash that brings up two set points. A huge serve down the middle seals it and he's a set away from being crowned champion!
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-5 Sinner
Sinner punishes another poorly executed drop shot on route to 15-30 but Alcaraz responds with an ace. Sinner has break point though, winning a rally with a forehand at the net. He gets it! Alcaraz races along the baseline trying to return a shot and slips and Sinner is there at the net to volley into an empty court. Could that be the turning point in this set?
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 4-4 Sinner*
Great defensive work from Alcaraz but eventually Sinner gets this overhead smash just right to win the opener. Sinner then finds the net before Alcaraz's execution of a drop shot is duly punished, 30-15. Alcaraz gets level with a lovely lob, the drop shot luring him in successfully this time. Sinner goes big on the second serve, 117mph to be precise, to take a gutsy ace and closes with another. Pinpoint accuracy.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 4-3 Sinner
Alcaraz remains focused on his serve and isn't letting up. Sinner can't return off the backhand down the middle. At 40-0 he drills another ace right down the T as we reach the two-hour mark of this match.
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 3-3 Sinner*
Sinner hits just his third ace of the match before a mistake opens the door to Alcaraz, 30-30. Alcaraz then attempts a cross court shot from the base line over Sinner but he lands just out. In a fast-paced rally Sinner plays a half volley through his legs but then misses an overhead smash... which he'll definitely be more annoyed about. Sinner recovers with an ace to hold. We're level.
13-2 - In the second week of GS events, Carlos Alcaraz is 13-2 after splitting the opening two sets, with both of his defeats coming to Novak Djokovic (Roland Garros 2023, Australian Open 2025). Knife-edge.#Wimbledon | @Wimbledon @atptour @ATPMediaInfo

Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 3-2 Sinner
Alcaraz shows a lack of concentration as he plays a drop shot at the wrong time but responds with a neat forehand after Sinner guesses the wrong way, 30-15. A couple of mistakes from Sinner soon has him over the line. Who is going to break first in this third set?
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 2-2 Sinner*
Sinner's still wearing the sleeve on his right arm following his elbow injury earlier in the tournament but it doesn't look to be causing him any problems. Again, he's at 40-0 in no time and a forehand winner down the line seals it.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 2-1 Sinner
Alcaraz allows Sinner to level at 30-30 with a backhand shot overhit. But sensing Sinner wants an early break, Alcaraz remains patient in the rallies to force the Italian into mistakes and he soon holds serve.
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6, 1-1 Sinner*
The pace of these shots is electric. Sinner gets to 40-15 before unleashing a trademark Alcaraz forehand after opening up his body that lands right in the corner.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 Sinner
A double fault is not ideal at the start of the third set as Alcaraz goes 0-30 behind. Another double fault brings up two break points. The defending champion saves the first with an 137mph ace and Sinner\s return then goes long. He closes out the game with another ace. Great resistance from the world No.2.
Alcaraz 6-4, 4-6 Sinner* - Sinner wins second set!
Sinner showing he can run just as fast as Alcaraz as he sprints from deep to get to the net to smash it into space. Brilliant serving from Sinner ensures he wins the next two points, 30-15. He brings up two set points and takes it on the first with a stunning forehand on the run back across Alcaraz. What a shot!

Alcaraz* 6-4, 4-5 Sinner
Back-to-back aces followed by a huge serve down the middle get Alcaraz to 40-0. Alcaraz's drop shot backfires for once at the next point before following up with an ace. Alcaraz needs to find something special next up.
Alcaraz 6-4, 3-5 Sinner*
Alcaraz is just missing his targets with the groundstrokes and he's not looking like breaking Sinner anytime soon. A hold to love for the world No.1.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 3-4 Sinner
An ace an a return long brings up 30-0. Sinner doesn't even attempt to return the next serve out wide, 40-0. Sinner's patience is rewarded in a couple of rallies as he gets back to deuce. Alcaraz double faults and shakes his head as break point arrives. But the Spaniard reels off three huge serves, including an ace to get the hold. He escapes this time.
Alcaraz 6-4, 2-4 Sinner*
Sinner misses a forehand from the baseline that he should be making, 15-30. Alcaraz can't return the next serve, 30-30. A 135mph follow up has the same outcome and he then gets lucky with a net cord. New balls coming up.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 2-3 Sinner
Alcaraz means business. He races to 40-0 in 70 seconds. Sinner can't return the last serve.
Alcaraz 6-4, 1-3 Sinner*
Both players exchange a few unforced errors before Sinner misses an easy volley at the net, 30-30. Alcaraz's backhand then lands beyond the baseline before Sinner crashes one wide. Sinner just having a few words with his coach after missing that shot. Alcaraz too looks to his box, cross with himself for mistakes he's making. Someone then pops a champagne cork before Sinner serves and it lands by his feet! It doesn't faze him though as he soon has the hold.

Much better from Alcaraz and it's the drop shot that catches Sinner sleeping again, 30-15. The world No.1 then finds the net and Alcaraz holds out with a big serve out wide.
Alcaraz 6-4, 0-2 Sinner*
Alcaraz hits a crafty backhand on the run across court to get to 15-30. Back-to-back mistakes from Sinner, the latter leaves the 23-year-old with his hands on his hips in disbelief at missing, bring up break point. Sinner keeps his composure though and gets an important hold with three straight points.
Alcaraz* 6-4, 0-1 Sinner
Alcaraz opens up with back-to-back double faults and then concedes the next. Three break points for Sinner. The Italian fires the first return into the net and slips again as he attempts to chase down a drop shot, 30-40. Alcaraz is broken as the world No.2 overhits a forehand. What a response from the Italian!
Alcaraz 6-4 Sinner* - Alcaraz wins first set!
After losing the opening point, Sinner gets back in front as his opponent makes two mistakes, 30-15. Sinner then hesitates and a volley goes long, 30-30. Alcaraz brings up set point as he hits a drop shot and Sinner slips over as he sets off. He seems fine to continue though. Alcaraz then hits a weak return on the second serve, deuce. Sinner then double faults! Alcaraz takes it, returning an unbelievable shot from the far left at full stretch off the baseline that somehow creeps over the net. Special defence.

Alcaraz* 5-4 Sinner
A first double fault of the match brings up 15-30. He gets level with a huge serve Sinner can't return into the court. From 15-30 down he sees the game out with an ace. Bold stuff.
Alcaraz 4-4 Sinner*
New balls please. Alcaraz hits a majestic volley at the net from the tightest of angles to get to 15-15. The next point is 18 shots of corner to corner action before Sinner fires into the net and Alcaraz celebrates wildly, 15-30. Sinner hits a forehand long and Alcaraz has two opportunities to break back. He only needs one, Sinner hitting a really easy backhand with no conviction.
Alcaraz* 3-4 Sinner
A few more forehand mistakes continue to cause a bit of concern. However, he hits a huge forehand winner with added grunt to get to 40-15. Sinner then puts an easy shot wide after coming to the net to return the drop shot.

Sinner looks very relaxed out there as he continues to target Alcaraz's forehand, who is yet to find his usual groove there. Two mistakes from the world No.1 to get back to 30-30 does put the pressure on a tad though. Sinner regains control after luring Alcaraz into a drop shot and the Spaniard somehow gets there but Sinner anticipates the volley return. Sinner holds.

Alcaraz* 2-3 Sinner
That's more like what the fans have come here for! Alcaraz is given the run around by Sinner but gets to and returns most of the shots before the Italian volleys into space at the net. At 15-15 Sinner comes to the net but Alcaraz hits the shot of the match so far as his backhand down the line flies right past him, 30-15. Sinner then overhits an easy forehand. He's back in it as Sinner dominates the rally before nailing a forehand winner. 40-30. Sinner gets to deuce as Alcaraz takes a tumble while stretching for a shot on the baseline. He's back up but can't deal with the Sinner pressure and the first break opportunity arrives. He gets it! After 19 minutes, Alcaraz's overhit forehand by some distance sees the first break.
Alcaraz 2-2 Sinner*
Both players aren't quite finding their timing of striking the ball just yet. It's been all about the serves as Sinner gets to 40-0 before Alcaraz hits a forehand beyond the baseline.
Alcaraz* 2-1 Sinner
We're speeding through the games as Alcaraz moves to 40-0 with Sinner not barely getting a hit. Two mistakes from the Spaniard opens the door for his opponent but a 139mph serve closes out the game.
Alcaraz 1-1 Sinner*
A few cagey rallies so far with neither player going for the big winners into the corners. Sinner shows he too can hit the aces early on as his first brings him to 40-15. A long rally at the next brings Alcaraz back into it as Sinner overhits a forehand. Sinner closes with a huge serve down the T.
Alcaraz* 1-0 Sinner
Nerves for Alcaraz? Not a chance. An ace to start the match. He gets to 40-0 as Sinner finds the net on the next two points. The Italian then sends a backhand beyond the baseline and it's an easy hold to love.
