Cubs should pass on Marlins former Cy Young winner for his teammate
The Chicago Cubs are currently 40-26 and have a four-game lead in the National League Central.
Despite a hot start and having a solid lead in the division, the Cubs have scuffled a bit as of late.
One reason for this is the offense cooling off, but the other reason is starting pitching.
The Cubs need to address the starting rotation if the club wants to be real playoff contenders in October.
Everyone has linked Chicago to the Miami Marlins’ former Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara, but his performance this season has been abysmal.
Alcantara has a teammate that has gone under the radar in trade discussions, and he could be a great fit for the Cubs.

Right-hander Edward Cabrera has risen his trade value in recent weeks.
Cabrera, 27, is 2-2 with a 3.99 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP in 10 starts this season. Over his last six starts since the beginning of May, Cabrera is 2-1 with a 2.03 ERA, per MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.
Cabrera is making only $1.95 million this season and is arbitration-eligible for the next three seasons, which should generate more interest from teams.
The Cubs have one of the best farm systems in Major League Baseball and have the talent to get a deal done.
A deal for Cabrera would be far more expensive at this point than a deal for Alcantara, but the Cubs need a frontline pitcher to add to the rotation.
