Darwin Nunez set for Liverpool exit after Saudi talks progress
Darwin Nunez’s time at Liverpool might be heading for its final whistle, as talks with Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal continue to gain ground.
The Uruguayan striker is now being seriously considered by the Saudi giants, with discussions already underway.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Al Hilal have already shown Nunez their project and vision. The next step is agreeing on the financial side — and that includes getting Liverpool on board with the deal.

It’s been a rocky road for Nunez since arriving at Anfield from Benfica in 2022. While he’s shown flashes of his talent — and even bagged a quiet pre-season hat-trick recently — he’s struggled for consistency in front of goal.
After scoring just seven goals last season, his future under manager Arne Slot has remained uncertain.

Why Liverpool are willing to sell Darwin Nunez?
Liverpool aren’t just looking to sell — they’re also planning ahead. The club reportedly wants to use the funds from Nunez’s departure to boost their bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Their first offer of £110 million was rejected, but the Reds aren’t ready to give up the chase.
Offloading Nunez could give them more financial muscle to make another move. Isak, who impressed last season, is viewed by many at Anfield as a major upgrade.
Despite his recent improvement in friendlies, Nunez appears to be slipping down the pecking order.
New arrivals like Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz have added competition, while the exits of Diaz, Kelleher and Alexander-Arnold hint at a bigger rebuild.
While Nunez still has suitors in Europe — with Napoli and Juventus linked — it’s the Saudi offer that seems most concrete for now.
With the transfer window open until September 1, this one could go down to the wire.
