Giants’ Heliot Ramos bat flipped for a walk twice in one plate appearance
Consistency is key.
San Francisco Giants leadoff hitter Heliot Ramos evidently knows that. He proved it on Friday night in Sacramento against the Athletics.
Batting in the top of the fourth inning, Ramos took a 3-1 pitch he felt was outside for ball four.
He promptly flipped his bat and bent down to take off his shin guard.
The umpire called it a strike, though, making the count 3-2.
The very next pitch was unquestionably high, ball four, and Ramos pulled out an identical copy of his bat flip the pitch before.

You may have noticed the 6-0 lead for the A's there. Ramos' walk didn't help things get better.
The Athletics went on to beat San Francisco, 11-2, after shelling Justin Verlander early.
But at least Ramos really has his walk bat flip down pat.
