Iowa State offers pair of top Iowa high school prospects

Following strong performances at a recent Iowa State football camp, a pair of top Iowa high school football prospects have received offers from the Cyclones.

Pleasantville multi-sport athlete Braylon Bingham and Hayden Shannon from PCM were among those that stood out in front of the Iowa State coaching staff.

Bingham, who is also a top-ranked baseball prospect in the state, helped Pleasantville to a 6-3 record and spot in the Class 1A state playoffs last fall. He ranked among the state leaders with six interceptions, returning one for a touchdown while recording almost 50 tackles on defense.

But along with being a high-level defensive back, Bingham shined on offense. He threw for 1,749 yards with 23 touchdowns and just eight interceptions, adding 368 yards and eight scores with his legs.

Over the winter, the junior-to-be averaged 28 points per game on the basketball court, qualified for the state track championships and is the ace of the Pleasantville pitching staff.

"After a great camp I am extremely blessed to receive an offer from Iowa State University," Bingham posted on social media.

Shannon, who will be a sophomore in the fall, was named by Football University as a freshman All-American. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder helped PCM reach the state semifinals, going 11-1 while he started all 12 games and earned all-state status.

"After a great camp I am blessed to receive an offer from Iowa State," Shannon wrote on social media.

The Cyclones are making sure to check out all corners of the state for the top football talent within it. Bingham presents an athlete who could help in several areas while Shannon brings excellent size to the trenches.
