Joao Pedro reveals Cole Palmer's influence on him at Chelsea so far
Joao Pedro has been at Chelsea for only a matter of days, but he has already developed an incredible on-field relationship with Cole Palmer.
The duo’s incredible chemistry was on display in the final against Paris Saint-Germain as Palmer set up Pedro for Chelsea’s third goal of the day.
Palmer and Pedro were two of Chelsea’s best players at the Club World Cup, scoring three goals each.
The former’s impact is not too surprising after what he has shown at Chelsea over the last two seasons, but the latter has shocked many.
Pedro only linked up with Enzo Maresca‘s side at the start of the month after signing from Brighton. Still, he has managed to make an immediate impact and strike up a partnership with Palmer after receiving help from his teammate in training.
After the game, Pedro opened up about his on-field relationship with Palmer and revealed how the Englishman is helping him settle into his new surroundings.

Cole Palmer helping Joao Pedro in training
Speaking about the influence that Palmer has had on his new surroundings, Pedro told BBC Sport, “Cole is that player who is decisive, and he’s been very good to me from the start here at Chelsea, in such a short time.”
“He’s always been able to help me in training, where we’ve been trying to understand each other better so we can work together on the field, and today [Sunday], thank God it worked in such an important match.”
Following Chelsea’s win in the Club World Cup final, Pedro made sure not to forget about his mother, with the Brazil international calling her straight after the game.
“My family means everything to me, especially my mother, because I had difficult moments at the beginning of my career, and she was there for me,” Pedro shared.
“So the first thing I did when I got to the team room was call her, because she’s very important to me. I know how happy she is with this title.”
