Knicks trade proposal moves Karl-Anthony Towns for four-time MVP

If any team around the NBA had an opportunity to add LeBron James, even if it's from an off-court perspective, they'd likely consider it.

For the New York Knicks, that makes things even more interesting, as not only are the Knicks one of the biggest brands in the world, but James could help their basketball team right now.

Some have suggested that the Los Angeles Lakers could move on from James, or that he's quietly asking for a trade after Rich Paul's recent comments. It remains uncertain how all that stuff will play out.

However, recently, Wosny Lambre proposed a trade idea that would send him to the Knicks for Karl-Anthony Towns.

"Trade LeBron for KAT, straight up," Lambre of The Ringer said on "The Zach Lowe Show.” "Like salaries. They play the same position functionally."

"I mentioned financial relief being one of the sneaky reasons the Knicks might do it," Zach Lowe later added. "That situation is one to monitor."

Moving on from Towns, who is much younger, would be a questionable decision. However, one could still make a strong argument that James is a better player than him at this stage of his career.

Towns does a lot of good things on the basketball court, including shooting 3-point shots at a very high clip for a center, which is needed for contending teams, but James has a different feel to him.

It's tough to ignore that he's one of the greatest players to ever lace them up, if not the best.

Even if he's getting older, the idea of James is still an enticing one.
