Lakers predicted to sign Damian Lillard to extreme bargain contract
The Los Angeles Lakers have a chance to add another future Hall of Famer to their roster, and on the cheap.
Damian Lillard is sitting in free agency after the Bucks waived the superstar point guard following his torn Achilles.
It's unlikely he'll play much or at all in 2025-26, but he'd be back down the road.
SB Nation's Ricky O'Donnell thinks the Lakers and Lillard are a match.
"This is the hardest one to peg with Lillard out all season as he recovers from an Achilles tear," O'Donnell writes. "Let’s go Lakers to make all of those wild Photoshops come true a few years too late."

He predicts a two-year, $5 million contract. That more or less says that Lillard deserves $5 million for the 2026-27 season, which may wind up being way too light.
But every team in the league is probably having the same trouble giving Lillard a real valuation right now, so that guess is as good as any.
And if Lillard goes to L.A., maybe LeBron sticks around an extra year to play with him. That'd be something.
