Darts legend Paul Lim will star once again in the 2025 BetVictor World Cup of Darts in June. The 71-year-old is enjoying yet another revival and we may now see him in Professional Darts Corporation more than once during the 2025 season

Lim, who formerly lived in and played for the United States, and Phuay Wei Tan came through Sunday’s qualifying event ( representing Singapore) in Kuala Lumpur, along with Malaysian pair Tengku Shah and Jenn Ming Tan and Chinese Taipei’s Pupo Teng-Lieh and An-Sheng Lu. 

Following PDC Asian Tour Events 9-12, the top two players from Philippines, Japan and Hong Kong are confirmed as their nation’s representatives.

Paolo Nebrida, a winner of two matches at the 2024/25 World Darts Championship, will team up with Lourence Ilagan for the Philippines, Ryusei Azemoto and Tomoya Goto will represent Japan and Man Lok Leung and Lok Yin Lee will fly the flag for Hong Kong.

The 2025 BetVictor World Cup of Darts will be staged at Frankfurt’s Eissporthalle from June 12-15, as 40 teams compete for the coveted title and a £450,000 prize fund.

Reigning champions England head up the 38 nations confirmed to be competing, while a further two nations will be confirmed following PDC Nordic and Baltic qualifying events.

As if that qualification wasn't enough for Lime, the Singapore Slinger even added PDC affiliate Asian Tour victory to his latest Indian Summer 

the 2024 Lakeside finalist extended his lead at the top of the PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit with a win in Kuala Lumpur last weekend, as Reynaldo Rivera, Ryusei Azemoto and Keita Ono also celebrated titles.

The third of six double-header weekends took place in Malaysia on May 3-4, as over 130 players competed in Events 9-12 at the Corus Hotel.

Iconic thrower Lim occupied top spot on the Asian Tour Order of Merit ahead of this weekend’s action, and he cemented that position with Event 12 glory on Sunday.

The 71-year-old clinched his second Asian Tour title of the year with a deciding-leg victory over Brunei’s Ak Muhd Hamdi Bin Pg Masshor, recovering from 2-0 and 3-2 down to prevail.

This was preceded by wins over Yan Bin Chen and Ryusei Azemoto in the semi-finals and quarter-finals respectively, while he also edged out Ryuta Arihara and Chi-Jui Tseng in deciding-leg ties.

Following the conclusion of Event 12, Lim boasts a significant lead at the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit, with Ono, Azemoto and Lourence Ilagan making up the current top four.
