Man Utd set to pocket £21m profit ahead of Bryan Mbeumo deal
Manchester United may be playing the waiting game for Bryan Mbeumo, but a bit of transfer dominoes might just help them cross the line.
As Newcastle United reportedly chase Anthony Elanga, United are set for a £21 million ($28.5m) boost — without even lifting the phone.
Elanga, once a promising young winger at Old Trafford, was apparently sold to Nottingham Forest for £15 million last year.
A solid deal, but one United cleverly sweetened with a 15% sell-on clause. Now, Newcastle are ready to shell out £55 million for Elanga, giving Forest a tidy £40 million profit — and giving United a cool £6 million cut of that.
It’s all pure profit too, which should put a smile on the face of Manchester United’s accountants.
With Premier League profit and sustainability rules tighter than a defensive low block, this money could prove crucial in pushing forward with their top summer target.

Bryan Mbeumo to Man Utd: Transfer update
United’s interest in Bryan Mbeumo has been no secret. The Brentford winger, who bagged 20 goals last season, is high on the list at Old Trafford.
Spurs and Newcastle were sniffing around too, but Mbeumo seems set on joining the red half of Manchester.
The only problem? Brentford aren't budging. Two bids, including one over £60 million, have already been knocked back. Brentford want more. A lot more.
As Mbeumo prepares for pre-season training with the Bees, United continue to negotiate. The longer talks drag on, the more pressure may shift toward Brentford. After all, the player wants the move.
With Ruben Amorim pushing for signings and United needing attacking reinforcements, every million counts. And thanks to Newcastle’s Elanga chase, United now have a little extra firepower in the bank.
The big question now? Will they finally meet Brentford's asking price — or try to dribble past it?
