Michigan predicted to land four star CB Dorian Barney
Michigan and Penn State football have had their fair share of fierce football recruiting battles over the years. The latest of those battles may be coming to a close soon as Michigan football is predicted to land four-star cornerback Dorian Barney over the Nittany Lions.
Barney recently had an official visit with Michigan, and it's safe to say that his visit went well. 247Sports' Sam Webb placed a crystal ball in favor of the Wolverines landing the top-150 prospect.
Barney expressed his enjoyment in his official visit to Ann Arbor and his appreciation of the Michigan coaching staff.
“The Michigan visit was great, and some takeaways were just bonding with the coaches and getting the feel of how they want me even more and how big of a priority I am to them,” Barney told On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
The 6-foot-1 corner is entering his senior year at Carrollton High School in Georgia and recently announced his final four schools for his commitment date on July 5, which include Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Georgia Tech.
Barney is currently ranked as the No. 148 prospect in the country and the No. 14 cornerback in the 2026 recruiting class. In addition to his final four schools, Barney has received offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas.
If Barney were to commit to Michigan, it would be a huge win for head coach Sherrone Moore and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale as the Wolverines continue to try to strengthen their 2026 recruiting class.
Michigan currently ranks 32nd in the country in recruiting for 2026, with twelve commits so far in its class.
