NBA insider gives update on Celtics' Jaylen Brown, Derrick White trade possibilities

The Boston Celtics could have some more big moves on the way.

Over the past week, the 2024 champions have traded Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis as part of a series of moves to secure some more financial flexibility moving forward. While those deals helped the Celtics accomplish their goals, there could be some bigger names on the move if things line up perfectly.

In a recent episode of The Zach Lowe Show, the NBA insider reported that there has been some real smoke surrounding the potential trades of Derrick White and Jaylen Brown. Over the past few weeks, Brown and White have come up in trade rumors repeatedly, but each time it has ended with the two being seen as safe from being dealt.

Lowe went on to say that he would expect the two to be in Boston to begin next season, but he left the door open for a potential trade if a team offers the right package. As Lowe noted, White is a potential fit for just about every team in the league, while Brown would require a perfect situation to have a team trade for him.

In any case, it seems that the package Boston would require for either is a steep asking price. Some team, such as the Kings, could be in the market to offer that perfect package, but as of now, Lowe believes that Brown and White should be on the team next season and be ready to play alongside Jayson Tatum whenever he returns from injury.
