Several prep wrestlers eligible for Triple Crowns at Fargo
Winning a state high school wrestling title is special. Scoring a championship at Fargo puts you on the map for recruiting purposes. But becoming a Triple Crown winner, that leaves you in a class by yourself.
The U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals take place from Fargo, North Dakota beginning this weekend. There, the best of the best will battle it out in several different styles.
For a select few, they are chasing the Triple Crown, which consists of winning the 2025 Junior Folkstyle Nationals, which were held in West Des Moines, Iowa earlier this year, along with winning gold in freestyle and Greco-Roman at Fargo.

All 15 of the reigning champions from Junior Folkstyle are eligible to compete for the Triple Crown, but just eight are registered for Fargo in Aiden Sweat, Roman Luttrell, Lander Bosh, Dean Anderson, Jayce Paridon, Austin Paris, Cooper Reves and Leimana Fager.
Jonathan Rulo, the heavyweight winner in Junior Folkstyle, is a reigning 16U Triple Crown winner. But he has not registered to be in action, according to The Mat. No one claimed a Junior Triple Crown last year, and only nine have done so since 2007 when it was launched.
For the girls, the Triple Crown consists of winning at least three of four events in Junior Folkstyle, Junior Freestyle and either the National High School Recruiting Showcase or USA Wrestling Women's Nationals.
Brooke Huffman and Tilisa Matakaiongo are both expected to be in action at Fargo as they chase the Triple Crown. Only Valerie Hamilton has won a Junior Triple Crown for girls before, doing so last year.
Several wrestlers are eligible to claim 16U Triple Crowns in both boys and girls events.
