Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens shine with sweet moment at ESPYs

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens made a stylish and affectionate appearance at the 2025 ESPY Awards, turning heads as they walked the red carpet together at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16.

The Olympic gymnastics legend, 28, stunned the fans in a shimmering purple floor-length gown that hugged her figure and caught the spotlight perfectly. She wore her hair in soft, flowing waves and accessorized with statement earrings and a diamond bracelet. Biles showed a personality full of confidence and elegance as cameras flashed all around her.

Owens, 29, showed off his own fashion sense with a white blazer over black pants and a black shirt left unbuttoned to reveal his chest. The Chicago Bears safety kept it modern and sleek, complementing Biles’ bold look without overshadowing her.

The couple shared several kisses and affectionate moments while posing for photos, clearly enjoying their night out together. It was another high-profile outing for the duo, who have become one of sports and entertainment’s favorite power couples.

Biles was nominated for two major categories: Best Athlete in Women’s Sports and Best Championship Performance for her standout showing at the 2024 Olympic women’s all-around gymnastics final. Her performance in Paris helped reestablish her dominance in the sport after stepping away during the Tokyo Games in 2021.

This red carpet moment comes during the NFL offseason, giving the pair some well-earned downtime. Owens is set to rejoin the Bears later this year, while Biles continues training and managing several projects off the mat.

Despite their glamorous red carpet appearances, the couple recently stepped back from the public eye after Biles found herself in the middle of an online feud with Riley Gaines, a former collegiate swimmer. The disagreement, which centered around transgender athletes in sports, sparked headlines after Biles responded sharply to one of Gaines' posts.

Following the backlash, Biles posted a public apology acknowledging the sensitivity of the issue and stressing the importance of both equity and inclusivity in athletics. Owens supported her statement by reposting it with heart emojis.

Biles later took a short social media break but returned earlier this month with vacation photos from Belize, showing the couple relaxing and enjoying time away from the spotlight.

Through it all, Biles and Owens continue to support one another personally and professionally. Their appearance at the ESPYs certainly had fans talking.
