After a cinematic seven-game series in the Western Conference Finals, the San Antonio Spurs have emerged victorious and are heading back to their first NBA Finals since 2014.

In his first time in the NBA Finals, Victor Wembanyama has proved to the world that at age 22, he is already up to the task of leading this Spurs team as far as he can take them. The Western Conference Finals MVP put up 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal and block to bring San Antonio back to the grand stage of the NBA Playoffs.

Along with the Frenchman, Julian Champagnie went 6/10 from beyond the arc (20 total points) and was massive when the Thunder collapsed on Wembanyama coming down the lane. San Antonio had seven players (Wemabnyama, Champagnie, Castle, Fox, Harper, Vassell, and Johnson) finish in double digits in what was a phenomenal team effort with their season on the line.

While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played well, putting up 35 points and nine assists, and a 14-point fourth quarter from Cason Wallace, the team effort from Oklahoma City just wasn't there tonight. Specifically, the main onus fell on Chet Holmgren, who finished with four points on a measly 1/2 from the field. Luguentz Dort, also a starter for tonight's game, finished with only three points on 1/4 from the field. In the end, the absences of Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell proved to be too much for the defending champs to handle.

With the Thunder eliminated, a new champion is guaranteed to be crowned during this year's NBA Finals. Either the Spurs or the New York Knicks will become the eighth different champion in the last eight seasons. The series will begin on Wednesday night from San Antonio.

Final: Spurs 111-103 Thunder

10:49 p.m. - THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS ARE HEADING TO THE NBA FINALS!

They prevail from what was a chaotic final 43 seconds and take Game 7 on the road 111-103.

10:45 p.m. - Mitch Johnson runs onto the court to make sure the refs hear him call a time-out after Stephon Castle found himself trapped in the corner at mid-court.

His squad stands 43 seconds away from making the franchise's first NBA Finals since 2014, and they lead 109-103.

10:43 p.m. - Shai is gasping for air; it's safe to say the star is exhausted from carrying his team tonight.

107-101 Spurs with 1:22 to go.

10:37 p.m. - With 4:26 to go, Daigneault has now used his last timeout for one last push, as his team has gone down by 11.

The Thunder trail 104-93, despite Wembanyama having five fouls.

10:30 p.m. - Coming out of that timeout, the Spurs have missed all of their shots, followed by OKC going 2/3 from the field.

The deficit has been cut to just six points, as San Antonio leads 97-91 with 6:48 to go.

10:24 p.m. - With eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Mark Daigneault uses his second-to-last timeout to rally his troops. They are down 97-86 after the Spurs have gone on a 13-4 run in the last 2:39.

End of 3rd quarter: Spurs 80-77 Thunder

10:14 p.m. - After an action-packed third quarter, we stand just 12 minutes away from declaring a Western Conference champion.

Both teams had their lowest-scoring quarter (24 points), and the game is gearing up for a photo finish between these two juggernauts.

10:06 p.m. - The Thunder have been inching closer and closer, largely thanks to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The back-to-back MVP has 31 of OKC's 74 points so far, but they are still trailing 79-74.

Two minutes to go in the third quarter.

9:50 p.m. - Thanks to a 13-2 Spurs run in the last 2:26, San Antonio now leads 73-65 with 6:12 to go.

Julian Champagnie has hit his last three attempts beyond the arc and is now 5/6 from beyond the arc, where all his FG attempts have come from.

9:42 p.m. - OKC calls a timeout as Lu Dort and Stephon Castle hit the deck wrestling for a loose ball, and they get the call off in time.

We are deadlocked at 63 with eight minutes to go in the third quarter.

9:36 p.m. - The second half of action is back in Oklahoma City. Will the Spurs hold strong to play in their first NBA Finals since 2014, or will the Thunder head back to their second-straight Finals?

Halftime: Spurs 56-53 Thunder

9:19 p.m. - While the Thunder finally garnered their first lead in six quarters, it was short-lived. San Antonio is halfway to the NBA Finals and takes a three-point lead into the half.

Gilgeous-Alexander's massive 13-point quarter has helped drag OKC back into this game; he has 19 points at the half as the game's leading scorer.

9:15 p.m. - Lu Dort hits a three to tie the game at 49 a piece. With another San Antonio miss, Jaylin Williams finally gives OKC the lead.

9:12 p.m. - After a Wemby steal, Stephon Castle was fouled hard by Alex Caruso on a lay-up. The play is now being reviewed to see if the OKC guard made a basketball play while fouling Castle.

San Antonio leads 46-44 with 3:09 to go.

The play has been deemed a common foul with no further repercussions. Castle to the line to only shoot two free throws.

9:02 p.m. - Mitch Johnson uses one of his timeouts right after a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander three-pointer.

Johnson's Spurs lead 44-36 with just under seven minutes to go before halftime. San Antonio is shooting 46.2% from beyond the arc, compared to OKC's 25% mark.

8:54 p.m. - Wembanyama hits his first three of the game from the night and puts San Antonio back up by nine. They lead 40-31, and the Frenchman has scored eight points so far.

End of 1st quarter: Spurs 32-25 Thunder

8:47 p.m. - After the first 12 minutes in Oklahoma City, the Spurs take a seven-point lead into the brief hiatus.

Stephon Castle leads all scorers with nine points, with Jared McCain right behind him, putting eight on the scoresheet through the first quarter.

8:41 p.m. - With 40 seconds to go, play has stopped after Wembanyama elbowed Isaiah Hartenstein in the mouth while trying to get past him at the top of the key. 

The referees are reviewing the play while San Antonio leads 31-22.

While trying to call a timeout, Coach Daigneault was issued a technical foul for animatedly speaking to the refs. It is unclear what he said.

8:33 p.m. - In just two minutes of play, Jared McCain has a quick five points since coming off the bench. OKC has narrowed the deficit to nine, as they trail 27-18 with just over four minutes to go.

8:24 p.m. - Similar to virtually every game in this series, the Spurs have jumped out to a quick start.

They lead 18-8 with 6:33 to go in the first quarter, with the final bucket coming from a Stephon Castle thundering putback dunk.

8:16 p.m. - We are officially underway in Oklahoma for Game 7, and San Antonio controls the opening tip. 

Victor Wembanyama gets the scoring started with a 12-foot bankshot.

8:07 p.m. - The buzzer has sounded, and we are moments away from the National Anthem and player introductions here in Oklahoma City.

8:01 p.m. - Paycom Center is deafening as the OKC Thunder run out to the court for tonight's Game 7 bout.
