Tottenham eyeing a move for ÂŁ68m Premier League star as Son's long-term alternative
Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of a new era under Thomas Frank, who is keen to help the Lilywhites improve after their dismal Premier League campaign. The Danish manager is desperate to make some offensive additions to the roster.
As per reports via TBR Football, Spurs are eyeing a move for Crystal Palace star and England international Eberechi Eze. Interestingly, former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou reportedly wanted the 26-year-old to replace Heung-min Son, and it looks like Frank also holds a similar view to his Australian predecessor.
There are rumours that Son may leave the club and therefore Eze is one of the many options they are eyeing to fill the South Korean's void.
Eze, in the last couple of years, has emerged as one of the most exciting English attackers, and this summer it feels like the 26-year-old will push for a move out of Crystal Palace and take the next step in his career.
However, reports also suggest that Spurs will have to fend off a significant amount of competition to secure the signature of the England international, as clubs like Aston Villa and Arsenal are also interested in him. There are plenty more teams all across Europe monitoring the versatile attacking midfielder.
Tottenham are also looking at Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth, but he is a more expensive proposition than Eze.

What is Crystal Palace's asking price for Eberechi Eze?
Spurs desperately need a winger, and with Frank's appointment, their search has accelerated even more. They also explored Jack Grealish's situation at Manchester City but didn't initiate further talks with the player's agents.

Their accelerated interest in a winger and their desperation indicate that Son may leave the club this summer. Reportedly, Spurs have left the decision on the South Korean to stay or depart the club, with significant reported interest from Saudi Arabia.
Eze is one of the many options for Tottenham, but he has the skills to flourish in a similar role to Son at the club. He netted eight goals and provided as many assists in 34 Premier League games last season.
Interestingly, Frank is a big admirer of the Englishman, and even Tottenham have been after him since his Queens Park Rangers days. But the 26-year-old won't come cheap as he has a ÂŁ60 million release clause which could increase to ÂŁ68 million depending on his performances.
He is someone who likes to take a lot of shots and has the knack of creating chances for his fellow teammates. As per FBref, Eze averaged 4.69 shot-creating actions, 3.48 shots, and 2.33 successful takeons per ninety minutes.
Overall, Brennan Johnson is Tottenham's primary right-wing starter, and Frank is looking for someone who could be an upgrade over the Welshman.
