Where to watch Canada vs. Guatemala live stream, TV channel, start time for Gold Cup match

Canada comes charging into the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals with momentum firmly in its corner, set to square off against Guatemala in what marks their third meeting in tournament history—and second at this stage of the competition.

With a win and a draw from their previous Gold Cup showdowns, the Reds hold the historical edge.

The North American side topped Group B with an unbeaten 2-1-0 record, launching their campaign with a statement 6-0 thrashing of Honduras. A 1-1 draw with Curaçao kept them honest, before a composed 2-0 victory over El Salvador sealed their spot at the summit.

Tajon Buchanan and Nathan Saliba have each found the net twice, while Jonathan David has quietly etched his name into the record books—his goal tally climbing to seven in just seven tournament appearances, making him Canada’s all-time leading scorer at the Gold Cup.

On the other side, Guatemala booked its ticket to the knockouts by claiming second place in Group C with a 2-0-1 run. Their historic 1-0 win over Jamaica kicked off their campaign in style, marking their first Gold Cup victory against the Reggae Boyz. A narrow loss to Panama followed, but Los Chapines bounced back in dramatic fashion, edging Guadeloupe 3-2 in a nail-biter.

Spreading the wealth up front, Guatemala’s four goals have come from four different scorers. Among them, Olger Escobar turned heads by becoming the youngest Central American player to score in the competition—netting at just 18 years and 9 months.

Head coach Jesse Marsch announced midfielder Ali Ahmed will not participate in the rest of the tournament after injuring his ankle against Curacao. Injured players cannot be replaced on the roster due to this year's edition of the rules.

Not with the team is star Alphonso Davieswho tore his ACL back in mid-March and will be out of action for considerable time. Also missing is injured defender Moise Bombito, who has been given the summer off with his club Nice starting next season a bit early thanks to Champions League qualifying. Stephen Eustaquio is on the Canada roster but is not with the team, instead participating with Porto in the Club World Cup.

Defender Luc de Fougerolles has emerged as a budding young star at the back, while Tani Oluwaseyi was exceptional up front keeping Cyle Larin on the bench. After missing the first two matches of the tournament with a slight injury, Alistair Johnston is back and should start the rest of the way on the right.

Canada predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): St. Clair (GK) — Johnston, Waterman, de Fougerolles, Laryea — Buchanan, Choiniere, Saliba, Shaffelburg — J. David, Oluwaseyi.

Injured: Ahmed (ankle), Davies (ACL), Bombito (shoulder/fitness).
Suspended: None.

The Guatemala attack is led by former USA international Rubio Rubin who switched to represent Guatemala in 2022 after none of his seven USMNT senior appearances cap-tied him to his country of birth.

They have two players who feature prominently at MLS clubs. Goalkeeper Nicolas Hagen backs up American starter Patrick Schulte at the Columbus Crew while right-back Aaron Herrera plays for D.C. United.

Head coach Luis Fernando Tena decided not to call in veterans Alejandro Galindo or Carlos Mejia, both of whom have over 50 international caps but are now 33 years old.

Guatemala predicted lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Hagan (GK) — Herrera, Pinto, Samayoa, Ardon — Castellanos, Rosales, Munoz — Escobar, Rubin, Lemus.
