Worst Home Run Derby performances: Yankees star Jazz Chisholm Jr. struggles mightily with fewest HRs at 2025 contest
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was one of the last entries into the Home Run Derby, as the Yankees second baseman was excited to participate in the event for the first time. Unfortunately, it did not go as planned.
Chisholm hit just three home runs in the event, the worst performance in the contest in over a decade. He finished a dozen home runs back of the next lowest number, which was Matt Olson's 16.

This was Chisholm's first time in the event, but he's participated in the Bahamian Home Run Derby in years past. That experience didn't seem to help him this time around, as he largely hit line drives down the line instead of over the fence.
After the performance, Chisholm told the media that he didn't change his swing for the event, instead keeping his normal swing rather than altering it for homers.

The Home Run Derby used to feature much lower totals, so three home runs in a round wasn't that uncommon. However, in recent decades, players typically have been able to reach double-digits in each round.
Here's a look at how Chisholm Jr. stacks up with the worst Derby performances.
